It’s that time of the year again when the inner geek in all of us gleefully look forward to immersing ourselves in a universe of all things awesome! Let me spell it out for you in case you’re wondering: it’s time for AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2018!
Lemme just tell you, ya girl got accredited this year as a blogger/influencer so I’ll see you ALL THRE DAYS! Try to spot me because I’ll be cosplaying a fun character. 😉
The dates have been set: it’s happening on July 27-29 (that’s this weekend already!), at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. It’s going to be quite a long drive (or commute, if that’s your chosen transpo method), but just like last year, it’s going to be more than worth the trip.
The lineup’s ready, as well: coming to this year’s convention are Finn Jones from Marvel’s Iron Fist, Mike Colter from Marvel’s Luke Cage, and Tye Sheridan from X-Men: Apocalypse and Ready, Player One. They’re not the only ones you’ll be seeing; you’ll also get to meet artists and see their work, as well as voice talents who’ve lent their voices to some of the anime characters we’ve all known and loved as kids in a panel discussion!
Let’s not forget the exhibits. There are 3 main showcases this year: they’re having Marvel with Hall M, the legendary event that’s been responsible for bringing exclusive trailers of blockbusters like Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, and Black Panther for us Pinoy fans.
Netflix’s Hall N is a showcase of recreations of sets used for shows like Riverdale, Orange is the New Black, Marvel’s The Defenders, and Stranger Things. You can also expect previews of their latest series as well as a panel discussion with some of its stars. This is Hall N’s second year at APCC.
Completing the immersive experience is Disney and its all-new Hall D, which promises to bring even more never-before-seen content, all for the personal experience, consumption, and delight of fans from all over.
Now, try to imagine all of that – the best in movies, TV series, games, cosplay, toys, music, etc. – happening for three full days! AsiaPOP Comicon really made sure that our geeky selves won’t be left hanging.
